Punjab Chief Minister Mian Shahbaz Sharif on Friday inaugurated a cricket academy solely for women cricketers here at the Model Town. Speaking on the occasion, Mian Shahbaz Sharif said that women should work along side men for the better future of the country.
He further said that Pakistani women were immensely talented and they need proper platform to excel. A number of Pakistan Cricket Board officials including Zakir Khan, Shafique Papa, Haroon Rashid, Intikhab Alam, Ali Zia, Shakeel Khan, Raza Rashid, former PCB chairman Khalid Mahmood, LCCA president Khawaja Nadeem, PHA director Ahmer Malik, PCB women wing chairperson Bushara Aitzaz and Aiysha Asher were also present on the occasion. An exhibitions match was also played between Punjab Reds and Punjab Blacks and the chief minister was also introduced with the women players and he appreciated the performance of the players.
