Police bust kidney selling network, Dr Sanaullah still at large

Gulshan-e-Iqbal Police on Friday claimed to have busted a network of criminals involved in the illegal transplantation of kidneys and arrested a doctor and a front man.
The police also seized a clinic in Rawalpindi and recovered equipments and machinery from the seized clinic.
Police said Nishter Block Iqbal Town resident Durab Shah, unemployed and suffering from financial problems, was approached by another Nishter Block resident Javed Maseeh two weeks ago, to donate his kidney for over Rs 150,000. Durab discussed the matter with a relative who told him to inform police. Durab contacted Gulshan-e-Iqbal Police, whose officials directed him to call Javed Maseeh to complete the deal.
When Javed arrived to meet Durab, of Gulshan-e-Iqbal police arrested him and interrogated him at Gulshan-e-Iqbal Police Station. During investigations, Javed said he worked for two doctors, Dr Awais and Dr Sana Ullah, who run a clinic in Rawalpindi. Javed told police Dr Awais was in Lahore after which police conducted a raid and arrested him. Police raided the clinic in Rawalpindi and seized equipments and machinery. Police said Dr Sana Ullah was still at large.
Police registered a case against the arrested men and started a probe. Police said Dr. Awais and Javed disclosed Dr Sana Ullah was using their clinic to cross match donor and patient. They said Dr Sana Ullah had forwarded about three donors and patients for tests till now.
Police said the clinic police sealed in North Cantonment Area for selling kidneys two months ago was also run by the same Dr Sana Ullah. in which Dr. Sana Ullah was wanted to police till now, who was still at large.
DIG Operations Ghulam Mehmood Dogar appreciated the performance of Gulshan-e-Iqbal Police and announced commendatory certificates for the raiding police team.
