The Pakistan Cricket Board has given Mohsin Khan an extended stint as coach of the team up till the tour of Bangladesh, it was announced Friday. Pakistan will be visiting Bangladesh for a series of Test, ODI and T20 matches from November 26 till December 22. An official of the board said: “Since no coach has been appointed for the Pakistan team, Mohsin Khan will continue as coach for the Bangladesh series.
According to a PCB official, the Board has shortlisted a foreign name for the post, and for that matter, the formal procedures might take a while to come out with a final notion since negotiations between the officials and the likely candidate are still in progress. “We are in advanced stages of talks with a prospective candidate who has been picked from the list of candidates recommended by the committee that was formed by the board to scrutinise and recommend a new head coach,” the official said. “It is in that scenario that the PCB had put faith in Mohsin to continue as interim coach for the Bangladesh series,” he added.
