Denying the information in the article that was published on Nov 9, 2011 titled ‘Punjab government’s tall claims come crashing down’, the Lahore Waste Management Company sent a clarification, claiming that the company had made the following arrangements to maintain cleanliness on Eidul Adha:
8 Supply of free 5 lac 10 kg plastic bags
8 Establishment of 150 Eid Camps in 150 Unions Councils.
8 Providing special cleaning services at all the Slaughter Houses, Jamia Masjids and Madaris.
8 Availability of LWMC sanitation staff round the clock.
8 24 hours active helpline 1139
It also claimed that LWMC had fired 13 workers and had rewarded the rest with Rs 1,000 each as bonus for their ‘excellent’ performance on Eid.
