Hearing of case against Lal Masjid cleric adjourned

A lower court on Saturday directed the Abpara police to produce witnesses of the cases registered against Lal Masjid’s chief cleric, Maulana Abdul Aziz, for his alleged involvement in several crimes.
Civil Judge/Judicial Magistrate Kashif Qayyum heard the cases against Lal Masjid cleric Maulana Abdul Aziz registered against him for committing various crimes, including issuance of a verdict against the army operation in Wana. Earlier, the same court acquitted the cleric in four different cases. The judge ordered the Abpara police to produce witnesses in the remaining 10 cases and submit a charge sheet against the accused. The hearing was adjourned till November 19.
