Etihad Airways, the national airline of the United Arab Emirates, has joined hands with this year’s Formula 1 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. Sebastian Vettel will once again look to defend his crown and make it a hat-trick of pole positions at this venue. As the penultimate race of the season, the 2011 F1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix will again likely play a key role in deciding the 2011 Championship.
For the 2011 Formula One season, the Formula One Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix will be held on the Yas Marina Circuit, for the weekend of November 11, 12, 13. Over the three days, there will be three practice races, followed by a qualifying race and finally the Race. The Formula One Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix began in 2009 and was Formula One’s first ever day-night race, starting at 17:00 local time. Floodlights used to illuminate the circuit were switched on from the start of the event to ensure there is a seamless transition from daylight to darkness.
