Balochistan Chief Minister (CM) Nawab Aslam Raisani rejected the idea of more provinces in the country and said it would open a Pandora’s box.
Talking to media on phone from Islamabad on Friday, Raisani said he was not in favour of new provinces and the priority should be improving governance in existing provinces.
He said slogans for new provinces were being used to dupe people and increasing vote banks. He said a move for new provinces could harm Pakistan’s integrity. He said governance in existing federating units must be improved. He said the resolution of all problems lay in implementing the 1940 resolution to empower federating units. He defended his government’s decision to make Gwadar the winter capital since it would generate trade and business activities.
