PIA raises international fares

Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has increased the fuel surcharge of international fares by 50%, after a similar rise in domestic fares five days ago.
According to media reports, PIA increased the international fares using the same formulae that were used for the hike in domestic fares.
The new fares would be implemented on the tickets issued from November 5.
According to new notification, the fare for the tickets for U.S. and Canada bound flights have been raised by Rs 5,500, while the tickets of UK-bound flights will cost Rs 2,740 more, tickets to Europe and Saudi Arabia would be Rs 1,500 costlier, and the price of the tickets to Middle East would cost Rs 1,200 more.
