Ajoka Theatre, in collaboration with THAAP and Lahore Arts Council, is once again showing its play “Mera Rang De Basanti Chola” based on the struggle of freedom fighter Bhagat Singh. Written by Shahid Nadeem and directed by Madeeha Gauhar, the play would begin on November 11, 2011 at 8.30pm in Alhamra Hall-Two.
“Mera Rang De Basanti Chola” is a tribute to one of the most influential revolutionary leaders of the independence movement, Bhagat Singh. The story of this fearless 23-year old revolutionary freedom fighter gets intertwined with other stories of struggle between the defenders of freedom and justice, and the forces of darkness and oppression. As the play reveals links with the past and the future, the spirit of Bhagat Singh lives on. His last words: “Inqilaab Zindabad” still resound in the air of Lahore.
