Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ebad Khan took part in a four-hour visit to various towns of Karachi and inspected the arrangements made for cleanliness and disposal of offal of sacrificial animals.
A statement issued by the Governor’s House said during the visit, Khan reviewed the arrangements made by the administrations of different towns of the metropolitan for sites of collective slaughter of sacrificial animals, disposal of offal as well as cleanliness.
The statement said the governor called for promoting a system of collective centres for the slaughter of sacrificial animals in an environment-friendly and hygienic atmosphere.
The officials of the town administrations informed the governor that proper arrangements had been made for cleanliness and the offal would be removed on daily basis and disposed of in a hygienic manner.
Meanwhile, University of Karachi Pro Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Shahana Urooj Kazmi said the collective system of slaughter of sacrificial animals would prove to be more economical and environment-friendly activity as cleanliness and removal of offal would be easier in such cases and improve the sanitary conditions.
