The burning and cleaning of trotters and skulls (Siris and Payas) continued on the sidewalks of the city making green belts and roads dirty. The people cleaning the trotters and skulls established stalls along the roadside and in parks. They charged Rs 100-150 for cleaning and roasting the limbs while Rs 30-40 per kg was charged for mincing the meat. The cleaning and burning process caused pollution in the city, while the City District Government Lahore (CDGL) did not check these activities. The smoke and foul smell made it difficult for the people to breathe and they criticised the CDGL for not responding to their complaints regarding the pollution.
