If the clashes between different institutions are resolved through the teachings of the Holy Quran then Pakistan could become the interpretation of Allama Iqbal’s dream, Lahore High Court Chief Justice Ejaz Ahmad Chaudhary said at a major Iqbal Day function organised by the Markazia Majlis-e-Iqbal (MMI) and Aiwan-e-Iqbal Complex at the Aiwan-e-Iqbal, Lahore. MMI Chairman Mian Afzal Hayat, Aiwan-e-Iqbal Chairman and Pakistan Today Editor Arif Nizami, Senior Journalist Mujeeb-ur-Rehman Shami, and Turk Scholar Sawat Arguan also spoke on the occasion. Paying homage to Iqbal, the CJ said Iqbal had based his poetry on the interpretation of Quran.
Arif Nizami, paying his tribute to Iqbal, said only the establishment of a system envisioned by Iqbal and Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah could save Pakistan since only the principles followed by the forefathers could guarantee success and development of the country.
Mian Afzal Hayat said unfortunately the provision of justice was not being ensured and that had created gaps in the society. Mujeeb-ur-Rehman Shami asked to speed up the movement for making Pakistan according to the interpretations of Iqbal’s dreams and said that Quaid and Iqbal were the flag bearers of democracy. He also laid stress on making the institutions stronger. A birthday cake of Iqbal was also cut in the end. The CJ, MMI and Aiwan-e-Iqbal chairmen and the journalists led a caravan to Iqbal’s mausoleum where they offered Fateha and laid floral wreaths.

  1. Iqbal was a Farsi-Urdu major {that is now an extinct language group]. Urdu went roman and everyone is going for English. WHAT DREAM ARE U DREAMING OF?

    • It is the message, not the language that is important considering your point. Holy Quran is also in arabic, and our language is urdu. It can be any language, as long as the message is decoded.
