Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Nawaz Sharif has called a consultation meeting of the provincial presidents and key leaders of the party after Eidul Adha to make the ‘Go Zardari Go’ campaign more affective. Nawaz has returned to the country from his visit to Turkey and Britain and has sought the record of the speech delivered by Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif against President Asif Ali Zardari during the PML-N rally in Lahore.
Nawaz also sought reports on Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leaders’ reaction to the speech, as well as a report on the party’s offices being set on fire in Sindh. Sources said Nawaz had decided to launch the anti-Zardari across the country soon after Eid to rid the country of the current government. The party’s manifesto and coming elections would be discussed in the meeting and a decision on activating the district organisations to participate in the drive would also be taken, said the sources. An important leader said on condition of anonymity that the party’s district presidents would be sacked if the number of activists from their constituency were low.
The PMLN's Go Zardari go drive is OK, but what about it's own fast slipping vote bank? PMLN must analyze the reasons for how the Punjab was lost and it's inertia after being voted to power in Punjab in 2008. The main reasons for this crisis like situation are centralized policies, failure to timely reorganize and energize PMLN, failure in visualizing change, too much time spent outside Pakistan by Mian Nawaz Sharif and not capitalizing on it's achievements like Sasti ROTI scheme for which even the the PM once said that it should be implemented in other provinces, as well. Even now the fall in party image can be arrested if out of box solutions are considered and implemented with cool mind. Leadership is not finding and recording failures, but removing the causes of failures and helping each other do a better job, effectively and efficiently. Management of leadership has shifted from role of autocratic and centralized decision making to decentralized decisions and planning in order to achieve goals. Effective people are not problem minded, they are opportunity minded. They feed opportunities and starve the problems. They think preventatively. Hence, PMLN must think of running the party on corporate lines, rather than in an old fashioned manner.
After seeing last rally in Lahore of PML(N). Its my advice, all presidents of district level should be sacked.
