In the first major shift on ground after Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) held a successful rally in Lahore, 14 ex-ministers have announced their intention to join Imran Khan’s party.
The 14 ministers include former Minister for Industries, Production and Special Initiative Jehangir Khan Tareen, reported a private TV channel.
Tareen, who is in London these days, told TV channel over the phone that he had informed Imran Khan about the names of his group which intends to join his party. The others who intend to join the PTI include Awais Leghari, Ghulam Sarwar Khan, Ishaq Khakwani, Jamal Leghari and Sardar Tufail.
Most of the 14 former ministers seeking to join the PTI had been members of the PML-Q in the past, and would formally announce their joining after Eid.
Reports indicate that former foreign minister and PPP’s leader Shah Mehmood Qureshi is undecided on joining the PTI. It is said that Qureshi would more likely announce the decision as an individual, and not a group.
PTI chief Imran Khan disclosed yesterday that 60 per cent of the parliamentarians wanted to join his party.

    • This is not a good news. People don't be happy with this. This is what I was afraid of …. These thieves and robbers will again become part of the government (If PTI wins). A common person from the area even if a LIGHT POLE given a PTI ticket will win. No need to take already tested persons on board. Imran I warn U may loose many voters if you do so.

  4. the names mentioned here are all electable candidates and they would definitely strengthen our party (PTI) but Sir Imran Khan should bring these people on his own terms because with the increasing credibility of PTI some people may expolite this for their personal motives. PTI ZINDABAD

    • mery bhai agr new banda ya to ap kahty ho k PTI k pas electable bandy nai hain…agr electable person a rahy hain to ap un ko EX ka label day rahy ho…..how nice it is…….to b EX is not a crime but to be a corrupt and EX is might b a crime. :p

    • No angels will fall from the sky. These are unfortunately the basket of politicians that we have. If the system of checks & balances is in place then it will impossible to steal & be corrupt. Besides, they aren’t the ‘known’ corrupt amongst our politicians.

  5. Now all the thieves want to join him as well, just coz he e has support from the ppl, earlier they were all condemning him as a leader now they want to join him…..tsk tsk political bher chal has started……

You will disappoint many by doing same old deal game.

  6. Hope more will join PTI soon..These names are much cleaner than Shah mehmood Qureshi..PTI ZIndabad

  7. what is the difference between Imran Khan and other Parties? If these ministers could not bring change with Mushraff regime and then how they will bring change with Imran Khan ?

  8. Osman Akram…my dear ur boss give u an outline of a project to do that with maximum efficiency …….boss keep monitring ur progresss..if u not working then he kick u out…….now leav the things for u to understand.

  9. Mr Cheema before u come across a boss you go through HR interviews !!!! good companies dont hire bad staff that they have to kick out later on .. i m a PTI supporter as u are but its common sense my dear brother. I hope its false news !!!!!

    • at least we know he is honest ,tell me one good deed the oldies have done look for change………

    • I agree, But imran is a hard nut to crack, he believes in one man show, doesn't believe in councilmen, he knows how to fool around stupid Pakistani Awam ( Just like all other previous corrupt rulers) , I tell you all that he will become a CIVILIAN DICTATOR. This is not a good news. 10. I love Imran there cannot be an honest person like him. The fake propaganda campaign against him is a disgrace and will not deter his true supporters from supporting him. He has never done corruption. Whilst PML N has been acting like a friendly opposition, Imran has been the genuine opposition to this corrupt government. His vision is clear end this corrupt system. Some PML N paid journalist are just distorting his statements and vision

  11. Yes, I hope Mumtaz Qadri, Ajmal Kasab, Malik Ishaq and Hafiz Saeed would also join Imran Khan soon. PTI zinda baad

    • a very snide and cynical comment.
what grounds do you have to make such a preposterous insinuation, sir!
It would be best if you back it up with some substance and convincing argument.

    • Mumtaz Qadri is in jail waiting for a death sentence
Ajmal Kasab is doing the same in an Indian Jail
Malik Ishaq is under house arrest
Hafiz Saeed is on the watch-list

Shafqat is an insensitive moron who doesn't seem to understand why the above mentioned names are either on the death row or languishing in jails…..It is because they stood for a cause which they felt was right, and to sarcastically remark like you did shows your feeble, impotent mind……It takes balls enough to remain in jail for 14 years and then when you FINALLY come-out,you budge not one inch from what you felt was right…….

Can Imran stand up for Islam and Pakistan, with his Jewish ex-wife doing the cheerleading on 30th october 2011???

    • Mumtaz Qadri is in jail & awaiting a death sentence
Ajmal Kasab is doing the same in India|
Malik Ishaq is under house arrest
Hafiz Saeed is on the watch-list&is a marked man

These people have not an iota of similarity with the christened Islamist Khan……They stood for what they felt was right and underwent whatever it takes to achieve what they want to achieve…….Unlike Khan who has yet to prove his mantle…….

Sorry Shafqat, these men won’t be joining Khan,it won’t be long enough when Imran would join them to rally ‘GREATER’ public support………

  12. think PML N has been totally exposed! clearly Nawaz Sharif was supporting Zardari, despite the fact major corruption cases were appearing against the government and NRO had been struck down by the supreme court where was Nawaz sharif then? The fundamental question which PML N supporters need to answer is what has changed between then and now. All of sudden they have started this movement , where were they before? The is pure PML N opportunism just for the elections

Imran is 1,000,000 times better than Nawaz and his opportunists

This fake propaganda of yours on where 1 mentally ill person has made 100s of fake IDs is posting slander is not going to work. People know your motives, STOP WASTING YOUR TIME! COME TOWARDS PTI!!

  13. most of these r good reasonable personalities and PTI will benefit frm them. i was a huge admirer of farooq laghari and i woulld like his sons joining PTI. PTI supporters have to realize that u have to mix experience with new blood and all the former politicions were not bad. whoever joins PTI they will come under the umbrella of the party and will go according to the party pollicies.

    • very true, everybody will go according to the party policies because it is a fascist party. They will keep supporting Talib Khan even if he declares jihad against India and hence destroy Pakistan.

  14. LOL all the status quo cronies in a tizzy! Everyone knows Tareen and his colleagues are clean and corruption free, the ideal mates for the change he wants to bring about

  15. Hamza, u r right . We have to accept ground realities also. PTI has a governing body who will take care of all these old and new politicians. People previously blamed IK that he doesn't have known personalities if now some comparatively good join then nothing wrong

  16. Oh wow! So revolutionary! The dictators party members joining PTI! Will they declare there assets before they join? Have there sins been forgiven now that they have jumped ships?

  17. Some politicians move parties because they are geniune 'Lotas" who nly want power. But there are some who are always looking for a good party and plateform but couldn't find as ever party ends up in a "family" business. Now they have found a clear choice….. we can't blame all politicians for changinging parties

  18. If you say this is so called revolution than pti should to be ashamed, they need leaders even they are corrupt or clean, these people joined musharf league(q) and now PTI, that was the revolution of mush and now for imran khan congratulates pti keep it up and get more ex lotas as soon as possible so that you can show some leaders in your party, these lotas has come to know that they dont have any place in any of other party so they announce to join PTI to get some more benefits, and also they will give more strength to PTI , KEEP IT UP AND CONTINUE WITH EX LOTAS

  19. Dear Usama its not a false news….its true…but the point is none is perfect among us…..we are in MCQs stage…we have to choos the best…….every incoming will go through interview and selection criteria.

  20. I just have been informed form a PTI worker that every constituency have 4 organizers and they will be compared to get the best…….priority will go to the older supporter.

  21. Coming to conclusions in haste is not going to help us either. Before 30th oct everyone raised the question including PTI supporters, ‘there are no candidates’ and when we get candidates, we ask why these. Hold your horses, he is a politician after all and he will play politics too. These ex ministers, well in Musharrafs govt at least they did ‘something’ and did not let the political heads steal every last penny! But IK must also be smart in picking up the right ones! As long as the head of the state is strong, he can monitor and ‘control’ any wrong doings. Are we all too naive in thinking that even if IK comes into power corruption will seize to exist? Unfortunately in the south asian politics this factor will remain, but strong govt heads are needed to ‘control’ them at least if not eradicate. And who can do that? My guess is as good as yours.

  22. Imran Khan should be very selective – now all the lotas and opportunists will like to join him – and we all know WHY!! PTI is a party of integrity – don't let them make it dirty.

  23. An army of sheep under the command of a tiger is better than an army of tigers under the command of a sheep. These very people who failed to deliver under the past leaders would be made to deliver under Imran Khan, Insha Allah.

    • Ball temperor and match fixer is now leader of political morons. And even if he is a tiger, we must be aware that he is just another ‘drinda’….

      • A match fixer cannot win the hearts of millions. A 'drinda' cannot be the ideal of the young generation which is so independent, so choosy. We ought to be grateful to God for bringing up someone we can look up to.

  24. CORRECTION: PTI chief Imran Khan disclosed yesterday that 60 per cent of the MESSAGES he recieved were from parliamentarians wanted to join his party.

  25. They should do that. But one thing is very important specially when u make the team,u must keep in ur mind who is the person who change their parties just bcoz of Power sharing. If Imran Khan select his team 4m new generations.Do not take any persons who belongs 4m PPP,PML-N-PML-Q.Everybody looking Imran Khan,If Iman Khan is popular then select new generations.I agree that power is everything,But IMAGE is more important. If u lost ur Image, then u lost ur efforts which u r deliver last 15 yrs. This the right time to endorse ur name in Pakistani heart.trust me i m not supporting MQM,But one thing i analysis that everybody in MQM admire their Leader.Every party members change their parties every 5 to 6 yrs.But in MQM party members never try to quit MQM.So,Imran Khan should act like a Mature Politician.

  26. imran khan is emerging as national political force day by day. as for as i am concern or looking the present political
environmental status imran khan is no doubt next prime minister of pakistan with two third majority

  27. Yes, Pakistan will change. First and last time it will be governed by Khaleefa Talib Khan and then world community would destroy it declaring it a primitive rogue regime,a threat to rest of humanity

  28. It does not matter the person changes his own party. May be a reason behind of that person who doing this act. First which work has to do. Amran has to win next coming election on any cost. After that, will be looked such matters. Many persons joins an emerging party. some time can not say about his loyalty. with the passage of time, the time will expose these persons.

  29. At the moment all these 14 Ex-Ministers have just shown their intentions to Join PTI. PTI has not yet approved their joining. PTI will only accepts those who are not corrupt and are honest with Pakistan!

  30. This is really disappointing. None of these 14 ex ministers are clean. They are all corrupt people who were part of corrupt regimes. By embracing these parasites, Imran khan will be tarnishing the so far clean image of PTI

  31. Imran Khan was supposed to be the harbinger of change. With all these ‘old’ faces how can we, the people, believe that he would bring change? Such stories give one a feeling of deja vu. Already starting to disappoint.

  32. pti and all those who want to join they are use less they are re making this democratic which is system of kuffar a rulling frame work of capitalism we are muslim we want islami khilafat imran khan is a breitish mentality he is not aware of detailed of islamic rulimg judiciary economics f policy int policy and and islamic economic punishment and social system

  33. Why people label every old politician as corrupt? There are many old but not corrupt. We shall not be too rigid. Rejection need justification.

  34. Pakistanis are unlucky as no honest leaders we have,,not even imran better than nothing but not the best,,,the irresponsible cricketeer with no expertise to steer the country.. Needs army rule to clean the mess,, a loyal general we need, not a corrupt politician…

  35. i dont get this, whats the asurity of their loyalty and credibilty ?. I dont wanna be a pessimist but concerned about all these new comers oe 'electables'. Anyway I also agree PTI should open arms for every loyal and honest Pakistani without any discrimination of which part he belonged, If he's honest and trustworthy, borad him up in PTI.
    PTI zindabad.
    PAKISTAN paindabad.

  36. @Muhammad Hassan. Sir, with all due respects, its not the captain who chooses the team, rather its the 'selection committee' pulling the strings at the back end, if you know what I mean!

  37. I hope Wasi Zafar, Dr Sherafgan, Mohammad Ali Durrani and Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan would also join Imran khan.

  38. These people and other politicians of Q-League performed very well with Musharraf and people of Pakistan are still enjoying the life quality achieved with their efforts. This is the right time for them to join Imran khan as their elders used to join PPP, PML(N, Q, T, R). Good on you Captain, that what we were expecting from you.

  39. This is not a good news.

  40. It is very good news for all PTI workers all over the world,we says very warm welcome to jahngeer treen and his team for joining PTI.

  41. A poll conducted by the U.S.-based Pew Research Center in June found Khan, the captain of Pakistan’s 1992 world champion cricket team, to be the most popular political figure in the country.

    The Telegraph

  42. "OLD VINE IN NEW BOTTLE" Dear Imran "Do not flash on an out going delivery when senven slips are in place. People are with you to get rid of old cheaters. And opposition is waiting for your loose delivery to cash on.

  43. Imran Khan is the next winner in Politics and Hopefully all the honest Politicians should Join PTI. IA he will bring change and make Pakistan a better country free of corruption.

  44. I think all the HONEST Politicians should h=join PTI, as thats the only Hope. People are sick of PPP, PML N, and PML Q, MQM and all other failed parties who did nothing but flourish more corruption. ITS HIGHTIME WE NEED CHANGE FOR SURVIVAL OF THIS BEAUTIFUL PAKISTAN!!!!!!!!!!

  45. I JUST WANT TO SAY, IF SOMEONE IS CLEAN AND DECLARE THEIR ASSETS PRESENT OR FICTITIOUS ALL OF THEM, I WOULD LET THEM JOIN PTI THEN.

  46. This establishment-backed dirty trick has failed in Pakistan. This is 21st century Pakistan with independent judiciary, vibrant media and more aware civil society!
InshaAllah PML-N will win the elections with thumping majority!
