Indian designer Kersi Dubash under his brand name ‘Nazakat Collections’ unveiled on Friday a wide range of Indian saris, Banarsi cotton, antique Parsi Gararas, Garara borders and Garara Shalwar Kameez suits, Tancholi, French chiffons, Lucknow saris, chicken and shalwar kameez suits, Kantha saris and pure cotton saris, ladies formal sherwani and Khaddi suits from Jaipur.
Dubash from Mumbai presented a seamless transition from Indian Banarsi, Lucknowi and Jaipuri formal and casual wear to delicate wedding saris and dinner wear at Jacaranda Guest House (F-7).
Kersi has exclusively designed the cuts and flow of material. All saris and suits woven in different ways, patterns and materials with different prints depicted a soothing effect. Most of the saris were handmade and embroidered with traditional sari blouses having embellishment of pearls, crystals, beads and sequence work.
The exhibition is offering everything to meet the requirements of ladies who prefer to wear something elegant, exquisite and unique.
Dubash has been exhibiting the traditional saris and shalwar kameez for the last 16 years under the name of ‘Nazakat Collection’. He picks up exclusive pieces from different manufacturers and brings them to Pakistan once or twice in a year. According to him he has a huge clientele here and his pieces sell like hot cakes.
“Every time the response is just marvelous which encourages me to continue the exercise of conducting exhibitions more frequently,” Dubash said, while talking to Pakistan Today.
Talking about the response of customers this time, Dubash said people of Pakistan were very loving and unlike even Indians and Europeans, they (Pakistani) love to purchase dresses.
“Indians are very miser and so are people from other countries who reach my exhibitions but hardly purchase any,” tall Dubash said smilingly.
“I love Pakistan and Islamabad perhaps that is why I’ve come here with all my collection. I have brought quality items and that is my designs are pretty expensive,” Dubash said adding that his current visit to Islamabad was second in 2011.
He said he had been visiting Pakistan for over 15 years and that he always felt good to be here. He said his work was always appreciated by Pakistani women.
It was not all that talented Kersi Dubash exhibited his creativity in Islamabad for the second time in the year 2011; it was rather his appreciation by the locals that make him the designer who offers something different, stylish, elegant and classy.
Kersi endeavors to offer women with best of clothing pieces and accessories.
“Nazakat Collection is the name of perfection where creation meets with creativity and style and it is therefore much appreciated by the Pakistani women,” he added.
