A ‘meaty’ Eid for the needy

The Chhipa Welfare Association (CWA) has finalised a strategy for distribution of meat obtained from collective animal slaughtering in association with shareholders of sacrificial animals among the people displaced by heavy rains and flooding in interior Sindh and the needy dwellers of slums in city’s outskirts.
A handout issued by the welfare trust on Friday stated that it was decided in a meeting of in-charge of collective animal slaughter with CWA Patron-in-Chief Ramzan Chhipa at CWA headquarters that the CWA would distribute the meat of sacrificial animals on Eidul Azha among the people who have been rendered homeless by heavy flooding in the province a few months ago. “The meat distribution plan would also cover slums and poor settlements in the suburbs of Karachi.” Chhipa would slaughter animals on November 7 at the trust’s headquarters located along the Shahrah-e Faisal. At the meeting, the animal slaughter in-charge also informed the CWA patron-in-chief about the enthusiasm prevalent among the people participating in the collective animal slaughter with CWA.
On the occasion, Chhipa formed special teams of volunteers for distributing meat among the needy and deserving people. He advised the people donating meat to obtain a receipt from the volunteers deputed at CWA’s centres across the city, while urging the people to participate in CWA collective animal slaughter.
