Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan has firmly ruled out the possibility of entering into alliance with political parties involved in corruption.
Talking to reporters at the Lahore Airport on Thursday evening after returning from China, Khan rejected all the rumours of PTI seeking an alliance with other political parties, saying his party would not forge an alliance with the corrupt.
He said that declaration of assets is a precondition for all politicians interested in seeking an alliance with the PTI. He said his party would not give tickets to any corrupt politician, as a party board would decide it.
Separately, in a statement issued from PTI Central Secretariat, Central Vice President Raoof Hasan said that reports appearing in this regard were totally unfounded.
He said the people who had become scared of the PTI after its mammoth rally were spreading such rumours. He said the PTI, being a popular party, was gearing up for the upcoming polls.
Hasan said the PTI was advocating change the system, which had denuded the country of its wealth.
He advised the people who were spreading such propaganda should instead brace themselves for the sweep which his party would make in the polls.

  1. So the ex-PPP and PML-Q, Musharaf era political figures who have joined PTI have all declared their assets and have no corruption accusation against them? However, PTI seems to have no qualms with sharing the stage with JI and its "rape vicitms should remain silent" president, Munawar Hassan.

    • I agree. I would really appreciate if Imran Khan can actually publicly make a statement on these points. What's the thinking here?

      • HE IS HIMSELF AN UNPARALLELED MATCH FIXER; HAS HIMSELF ADMITTED IN HIS OWN BOOK. WHAT ELSE EVIDENCE ARE WE WAITING FOR! HE ALSO MUST BE HELD TO ACCOUNT … HE AND MANY OTHERS ACTUALLY PAVED THE WAY FOR THESE THREE KIDS TO WALK ON. chor wo nahi hota jo chori karey, chor wo hota hey jo pakra jaye! I strongly condemn Imran.

  2. Imran Khan, you can do it with PTI only. No need for any alliances – they will spoil your party as well. Will make you look bad and it will again become the same old story and practice of dirt, corruption, nepotism. Stay away from this dirty lot!!

  3. Imran can’t produce 900 candidates in a year. He should include every lota in his party except for the notoriously corrupt. There is no such thing as corruption free candidate; it’s a struggle for power, not philanthropy. No candidate can survive without hiring a bunch of goons; the young supporter must recognize the realities of constituency politics. And there is no magical solution to the economy; and economy cannot run on remittances. A bankrupt state cannot have an honorable foreign policy; relations are defined by balance of power. US can attack Iraq, kill a million and walk away smiling; but we can’t launch Ajmal Kasabs in other countries. Anyways, our foreign and defense policy is run by the army; Imran won’t be allowed to come near to it. Corruption can’t be proved; existing politicians aren’t foolish enough to leave receipts of illegal embezzlement of funds. This grand accountability plan is also hollow rhetoric. After becoming Prime minister, if Imran controls corruption at the highest level and doesn’t involve in mega scandals, it should be considered a success

  4. but you guys getting totally wrong Ideas about PTI. PTI in Pakistan needs more reputation not for Imran Khan but for other candidates as well. Imran khan require Popularity in Sindh, Baluchistan yet his candidates require all over Pakistan.

  5. IK is quite justified not to enter into an alliance with 'corrupt parties'. Does he mean corrupt leaders rather than the parties.

IK is on the record to keep changing stances. He was bitterly against the MQM and Mush in the wake of 12th May carnage and had visited London to file a dossier with the Scotland yard giving documentary evidences against the activities of MQM supremo Altaf Hussain. He has been noticeable silent on this issue and may have even entered into an unwritten alliance with the thug. If so, IK should make sure he will have no one to support from the province of Sindh.

  6. Beware Imran the stigma of JI is starting to stick to you. If you know Pakistanis hate JI and will not vote for you if you seem to be close to JI. I personally would vote for a DOG rather than anyone close to JI
