The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Tuesday reserved its judgment on a petition filed by twelve officials of Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP), seeking regularisation of their services and release of their pending salaries.
A single-member bench, comprising Chief Justice Iqbal Hamidur Rehman, held the hearing of the case filed by the ITP officials.
The petitioners contended that they had been working in ITP on deputation basis since 2006 and their families were now settled in Islamabad but they were not being absorbed in the ITP.
The counsels Afrasyab Khattak, Syed Zafar Ali Shah, Kamal Mustafa and others said their clients, belonging to Sindh, were being neglected despite the fact that the had submitted applications for absorption or regularisation of their services.
They lawyers prayed the court that the petitioners be regularised and their pending dues be released at the earliest. However, the deputy attorney general told the court that the said officials were sent to their parent departments upon completion of their deputation period.
The IHC Chief Justice reserved the judgment after hearing the arguments.
