Former Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi met Pakistan Cricket Board Chairman Zaka Ashraf here on Wednesday.
Talking to the media after the meeting, the all-rounder said that although there was no clear indication of his return to the team, the meeting with the new PCB chief remained positive. Afridi said that he has declared himself available for national duty, and now its up to the selectors to decide whether he should be included in the team.
He added that he still has some cricket left in him, and would like to contribute towards making Pakistan a good team in all three formats.
Commenting on the verdicts handed out to Muhammad Asif and Salman Butt, he said that the incident has defamed Pakistani cricket. He said that he felt sorry for the families of the players involved because of the defamation that this incident and the verdict has brought to them. He also said that this verdict would serve as a deterrent for other players from indulging into such activities.
