The employees of the Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) carried out demonstrations and observed a strike in different cities of Punjab on Tuesday against the expected privatisation of the organisation, a private TV channel reported.
In Islamabad, employees of the Islamabad Electric Supply Company (IESCO) gathered outside the head office and protested.
In Lahore, the protesters blocked Mall Road.
In Gujranwala, employees of the Gujranwala Electric Power Company (GEPCO) observed a strike, shutting down 126 sub divisions’ offices.
In Faisalabad, employees of the Faisalabad Electric Supply Company (FESCO) protested by shutting down all offices of the four circles.
The workers stated that the protests would not be stopped until the government takes back its decision.
No privization in WAPDA will be preserved by Labour PM. Gillani is considers the privitization matter, because the PM takes the money and sold company, if he could not agree to resolve the matter, PM criticeised by the Labour Highly protest against the PM. Gillani is not concered by the country.
