An exhibition of paintings by young artist Mehmood Ali featuring historical buildings of Rawalpindi, common life and nature opened at the Rawalpindi Arts Council (RAC) on Monday.
Senator Najma Hameed inaugurated the exhibition. About 35 pieces were exhibited at art gallery.
Mehmood Ali got a diploma in painting from Rawalpindi Arts Council and he has held many solo exhibitions in various cities.
Talking to media after the inauguration, Senator Najma Hameed said the young generation was a treasure of the country and their role in portraying Pakistan’s positive image was valuable.
“By painting historical buildings and the common life of Rawalpindi, he has proved himself a real son of the Potohar soil and he has truthfully portrayed his subjects,” she observed.
The Rawalpindi Arts Council has also awarded Mehmood Ali a medal for his performance. The exhibition will continue until 6 November.
