The Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) has sent a 12-member group of young teachers for “Basic Education Administration Course” in Japan.
For this 18 days course, a send-off ceremony was organised on Monday at a local hotel.
Takatoshi Nishikata, the chief representative for the JICA, said on occasion that the teachers would benefit from their experience in Japan and would return with a renewed commitment towards their work. “I also hope that you will make lifelong friends during your visit to Japan,” he said.
The Training Programme for Young Leaders of Pakistan is initiated by the government of Japan under its technical cooperation scheme for Pakistan.
The course has been designed essentially for young school teachers and administrative staff in public primary and elementary education system.
It is expected to enhance and polish the capabilities of the participants in the field of education and school administration through the Japanese experience; which is already established in education sector.
Besides training, the program will also ensure the promotion of mutual understanding and friendship among people of Pakistan and Japan.
The participants will get an opportunity to experience Japanese life style and culture through home stay with Japanese families & by exchanging knowledge and information of their respective countries.
The programme was started by the JICA in 1991, and till date, a total number of 454 government officials of various ministries and departments of the Government of Pakistan have been trained in various fields.
