The inaugural session of a national seminar on ‘The rights of Visually Impaired’, organised in connection with the International White Cane Safety Day, will be held on Tuesday (tomorrow) at Margalla Hotel by the Directorate General of Special Education and Social Welfare in collaboration with Sight Savers International.
The objectives of the seminar are to understand and recognise the rights of visually impaired people. The professional and renowned resource persons dealing with visual impairment, representatives of the civil society and visually impaired students/persons from different centres of Directorate General of Special Education will participate in the function.
Besides, success stories of visual impaired persons and students will also be presented through solo and group musical performances. Additional secretary, Capital Administration & Development Division (CA&DD), Khalid Hanif, will be the chief guest on the occasion.
