Resolving the toll tax issue, the Lahore Ring Road Authority and National Logistics Cell agreed to allow NLC to charge toll tax on the Ring Road within two months in a meeting at the commissioner’s office on Saturday. Lahore Commissioner Jawad Rafique and Brigadier(r) Tariq Khan of NLC signed the deal between two authorities.
Chairman P&D Javed Aslam, Secretary Communications and Constructions Maj(r) Azam Suleman, Director Enforcement Col(r) Asim Khan, Director Monitoring Col(r) Abdul Waheed and NLC Project Manager Col(r) M Zafar were also present at the occasion.
If toll tax is applied on the ring road of Lahore then we dont need this service; people will avoid it and use the other non-tax roads; it will also make the life miserable for those who are living around the ring road; perhaps they will get exemption!!! Very soon we will hear that Punjab Govt will levy tax on fly overs also.
Although there should be no toll tax for general citizens other then commercial activity. Only commercial traffic should be charged the tax.
