Govt allies slam Shahbaz

The government’s allies on Saturday condemned the derogatory language used by PML-N leaders and Punjab cm Shahbaz Sharif against President Asif Ali Zardari.
Speaking to journalists, MQM leader Raza Haroon said the MQM had consulted legal experts to ascertain if the derogatory remarks used by PML-N leaders on Friday were in violation of the Constitution. Similarly, Sindh PML-Q General Secretary Sindh Haleem Adil Shaikh said it would have been appropriate if rally participants raised slogans against problems faced by the people of Punjab.
ANP Info Secretary Senator Zahid Khan termed the Punjab CM’s demand for President Zardari’s resignation unjustified. KP Senior Minister Rahim Dad Khan said the PML-N rally in Lahore proved the Sharif brothers were sabotaging the democratic process. Speaking to media at Allama Iqbal International Airport, Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan said the insulting language by Punjab CM Punjab Shahbaz Sharif against the president was an attack on parliament.
She said the president was elected by all provincial assemblies, including Punjab Assembly, unanimously and criticising the office of the president was unconstitutional.
