The Co-ordination Committee of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) has decided to hold a protest rally against what they termed the ‘derogatory language’ used against President Asif Ali Zardari by Pakistan Muslim League-N leaders.
The rally will be held on coming Sunday at 2pm on the Tibet Centre, MA Jinnah Road in Karachi. MQM leader Altaf Hussain strongly denounced the use of derogatory and abusive language against President Zardari by Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif and other leaders of the PML-N in the public meeting held in Lahore.
He warned the PML-N leaders that the use of un-parliamentary language against the president was equal harming the integrity of the country and not simply disgrace someone. Altaf assured President Zardari that the MQM would continue to support him every difficult time, and it would not refrain from any sacrifice for the sake of democracy in the country.
He gave his assent to the decision of the Co-ordination Committee and appealed to the people to take part in the rally for expressing solidarity with President Zardari. Altaf Hussain also appealed to all democratic parties, including leaders and workers of the PPP to participate in the rally for the stability of Pakistan and for continuing democratic process in the country.
