Judicial commission formed to probe top Baloch doctor’s killing

Balochistan Chief Minister Nawab Aslam Raisani formed a judicial commission to investigate the targeted killing of Pakistan Medical Association (PMA) Balochistan chapter President and well-known surgeon Dr Mazar Baloch. Raisani made the announcement during a meeting with a delegation of Pakistan Medical Association Balochistan. The judicial commission to be headed by a senior judge will be constituted soon.
Dr Mazar, an orthopedic surgeon, was shot and injured in Quetta on October 14th. He succumbed to his injures at a hospital in Karachi. Talking to the delegation, the CM said the culprits will not be spared. He assured the delegation that the government will protect doctors. He directed senior police officials to use all available sources to identify those targeting doctors and other innocent people.
Raisani assured the government would announce compensation for the Dr Mazar Khan Baloch’s family. One shot dead, one body found: A person was shot dead in Quetta on Friday while a dead body was found from Harnai district. According to detail, unknown armed men riding a motorbike opened indiscriminate fire on Mohammad Anwar at Jinnah Town and escaped from the scene. Anwar sustained critical wounds and succumbed to his injuries before reaching hospital.
Police said the motive behind the murder could be an old enmity. In another incident, police recovered a bullet riddled body, lying near graveyard in Killi Harboz of Harnai district. Sources said the body was identified as Sher Muhammad, an Afghan refugee, and resident of Harnai. He was hit with bullet in his head and a mobile phone was also recovered from the spot, they added. Police is investigating the murder.
