Scuffle in Pak-India hockey match: 5 Indians, Pak skipper banned

Tournament Director Graham Napier on Saturday banned five Indian hockey team players including officials and Pakistani. According to the media reports, the Indian players got angry after the last-minute goal and scuffled with the Pakistani players that led to fighting, involving all the players. After hearing of both sides’s version of the incident, Tournament Director Graham Napier clamped ban on the players and team officials. Coach of the Indian Hockey team Yograj Sing and player Chandi were banned for five matches while manager of the Indian side, David and player Toshar were banned for one match besides Gabraj was banned for three matches. Skipper of Pakistani side Shakeel Abbasi was also banned for one match as a penalty for indulging in the physical fight on the ground. When Pakistan levelled the score through a penalty corner in the last moments of the game, Indian players got angry and one of them hit a Pakistani player Muhammad Imran with his stick that led to the fight.
