The court of Judicial Magistrate VI Faisal Hameed issued arrest warrants for former president Pervez Musharraf and former prime minister Shaukat Aziz on Friday on the request of the Crime and Investigative Department (CID) over the killing of Baloch nationalist leader Nawab Akbar Khan Bugti.
The CID is investigating the matter on orders from the Balochistan High Court (BHC), which has been expressing its dissatisfaction with the pace of progress in the case and has repeatedly scolded police and the provincial government over it. Balochistan police had sought the arrest warrants for Musharraf and Aziz from the court.
