Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif called upon President Zardari to resign while addressing the PML-N anti-government rally at Bhati Gate on Friday. The rally started from the Nasser Bagh and was led by various PML-N leaders.
Shahbaz said Zardari was depositing the nation’s wealth in Swiss bank accounts and the time had come for him to be held accountable for his actions. He sent a message to President Zardari that he could not buy PML-N workers.
He added that during the tenure of this government, PIA and Pakistan Railways had been ruined and officials in the government were highly corrupt.
“If we can defeat Dengue, Zardari we can defeat you” Shahbaz said adding that the president was not aware of the people’s problems and was only concerned about accumulating money.
Pakistan, he said, is witnessing that the sea of people gathered here in Lahore today is ready for the final showdown. He said that Pakistan Railways, PIA, Steel Mills and every other public institution is in the grips of corruption and commission mafia.
He prompted the participants to raise ‘Go Zardari Go’ slogans and also recited the ‘Mein nahin manta… I don’t recognize’, a poem by revolutionary poet Habib Jalib.
The city of Lahore had been draped with giant hoardings, banners, posters and fliers, presenting an atmosphere of elections before the rally.
Strict security arrangements were put in place on the occasion and some 2, 500 Punjab Police personnel were stationed in the city.

  1. Mandi Bahauddin: Ongoing competition of holding rallies and strewing banners and billboards in major cities and public places between PML (N) and PTI has elicited mixed reaction among people belonging to various walks of life. It was a battle between Kashmir and Khan Groups to conquer Punjab with show of strength with costly banners and holding large gatherings. Kashmir group being part of sugar mafia had piled wealth in abundance whereas Khan Group had collected lot of charity from all over the world in name of hospital. This was said by Tariq Sahi MPA while talking to media persons here today. He said it was very strange that Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif would stage protest against corruption that his government was responsible to promote in every department of Punjab government. He said at district level revenue and police departments had made life of people miserable. Police and revenue officials continued taking bribe from the public with impunity. In Mandi Bahauddin district revenue officials misappropriated 800 millions rupees but not a single official had been punished so far. H said there was no law and order in Punjab and government officials behaved like prince. It had been better if Shahbaz Sharif would have spent his energies on weeding out corrupt elements from Punjab government instead of spending money lavishly on banners and rallies campaign. Referring to Khan Imran, he said he had no agenda except blaming other leaders and showing himself as an extraordinary figure. He said Imran should know that there was difference between playing cricket and playing politics. President DAB Waseem Maiken said the rallies and displaying banners in large number were annoying the public since these activities were causing traffic blockades and closure of business. He said these leaders should concentrate their efforts on facilitating life of the poor. Ghulam Rasul Gondal Advocte who is president human rights said that PML (N) Government in Punjab had failed to check rampant corruption in district administration and protection of basic human rights. Common man was burdened with problems and difficulties and the government instead of providing him relief was busy in holding rallies causing inconvenience to public.

  2. Dear Mian Nawaz Sharif go ahead, Whole Pakistan is behind you Insahllah Mr 10% Zardari will go soon. go zardai do go go go go go ………

    • What abt Sharifs? Sharifs govt will be a tragedy for Pakistan. Look at Motorway scandals and privatization scandals. Sharifs r much more corrupt than Zardari. Look at precious roads around Raiwind palace built from state treasury. Did Zardari build such roads around NawabShah house? From where Sharifs run 66 billion dollars property business in UK?

    • Nawaz in govt, that will be the end of Pakistan. look at his last govt. Attack on Supreme court, Surrender before India for selling sugar, mega corruption in motorways and privatization. Zardari might be corrupt but not as much corrupt as Sharifs. Look at precious roads built around Raiwind palace on state expenses where population is not more than hundreds. Have u ever heard Zardari building roads around his Nawab Shah house. Then Sharifs's sons billions dollars business property in England

  5. This news paper seems to be sold out to Sharifs becoz it prints all kinds of comments against Zardari or PPP but when such comments are given against Sharifs, it puts them at the altar of approval.

  6. Nawaz Sharif is responsible for load sheding in Pakistan. In 1996 Benazir govt signed an agreement with PowerAsia a hongkong based power company, Asia's largest, on THAR COAL POWER Project for 5000 MW. But Mian Sahib came to power after six months and cancelled the agreement becoz he did not get any commission. He also cancelled other power agreements which Musharaf govt had to renew. But Thar Coal Power project cud not be renewed and PowerAsia refused to renew coz they lost trust in our govt. So Mian Sahib is responsible for this loadshedding

  7. The filthy language used by these Kojacks of Punjab will ultimately take them back to wilderness. These persons are not worth of any responsible position in the government. They are proving to be more dangerous than dengue in our political system.

  8. The PPP needs to wake up and make amends. It has done a lot of wrong to the people of Sind, KP, Balochistan and Punjab. The country has been deprived of electricity and the wheels of our industry have grinded to a halt. Railways has been destroyed; Karachi reduced to a city where thousands have been killed in target killings; PIA and Steel Mills allowed to be plundered. This is not what an elected government is supposed to do. It is the desperate people of Pakistan who have come out on the roads of Lahore. Let Zardari hold a public rally in Larkana or Badin or Sukkur, if he has any doubts about his loss of popularity and credibility. Zardari Saheb has to blame himself and nobody else.

  9. mein nahin manta mein nahin janta by shahbaz sharif….. the sign of the time when jalib will be reborn and will commit suicide … just for making a point hahahaha

  10. PML has left nothing for Imran Khan to say on Sunday. Everything was said in the loudest voice and with expansive gestures. The opposition and the ruling has to be contained within the parliament in the view of political parties which have their stakes in the parliament. Imran khan and company will push to create the perception of complete failure of government and themselves a viable alternative. Some will suggest the Impossibility of fair elections under Zardari and others will sneak in arguments of failed democracy. Abrogation of constitution in the disguise of neutral umpires is already being preached. Same old vinegar same old bottle being sold as wine.

  11. Sharif Brothers are fully corrupt in Pakistan Politics,Sharif Brothers should have go not from Politics,I think go from Pakistan,God destroyed them only Shrif Brothers,Amin
