The US embassy on Thursday dispelled the impression that the aid by its government was not reaching to the people in Pakistan. Referring to some articles published in Pakistani newspapers on Thursday, the embassy statement said US Consul General for Peshawar Marie Richards was misquoted during her meeting with PML-Q provincial president Ameer Muqqam. “This is inaccurate.
The consul general specifically mentioned many of the projects in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa being funded by the US government, such as the construction of schools and roads,” the statement said. The embassy said these projects were clearly and directly benefiting the people throughout the province. “Consul General Richards noted in her meeting that the public may not be aware of all the good work being sponsored by the US government in the region,” according to the statement. “As US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton emphasised in her recent visit to Pakistan, the US is committed to helping Pakistan meet economic and social development needs of its people,” it said.

  1. Can US embassy deny that in one of USAID's very big project, one firm is consultant and it's director is also deputy chief. As such, pre and post audit is in one hand. So much for American claims of transparency and sermons to Pakistan on reducing corruption.
