AWRP demands timely payment of pension to PR former employees

Executive committee of Association for the Welfare of Retired Persons (AWRP), in its meeting condemns the attitude of relevant authorities for non-payment of pension to the retired Railway employees. The resolution passed by the association strongly recommends that the amount meant for pensions should be immediately sanctioned for the whole financial year and this amount should not be used for other purposes or meeting other expenditures except for payments of pensions to the Railway employees.
The executive committee also called upon the Accountant General of Pakistan (AGPR) officials and the National Bank Ltd. to add due increases in the pension announced by the government from time to time and also add 25 per cent more pension to the 50 per cent pension already being drawn by widow and others.The executive committee noted with regret and deep sorrow the death of Railway pensioner while sitting outside the bank for three consecutive days and nights in the hope of getting pension. Association for Welfare of Retired Persons (AWRP) is a registered representative body of pensioners all over Pakistan. The meeting was presided over by Association President Pervez Ahmed Butt and attended by Vice President Syed Farogh Naveed, Pensioners Foundation of Pakistan Chief Executive Muzaffar Mahmood Qureshi, and Secretary General Tufail Ahmed Qureshi and all other members.
