Singer Abrarul Haq on Thursday staged a mini rally on The Mall to kick off the “rallies weekend” in Lahore, which would include rallies of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) on October 28 and the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) on October 30.
The Bachao Pakistan Campaign was started on the wrong time due to which only 300 people attended it. Protesters gathered at Nasir Bagh and called upon the nation to stand up not for political causes but national causes and uproot all evils in the country. After waiting sometime for more people to come, the protesters walked towards Data Darbar. Abrar called it a total non-political platform and said that the whole nation needs a non-political platform where our interests should be considered and we as a nation decide that how we have to act in the future.
The singer said that first we have to register votes then cast them and demand a manifesto from all of our leaders that how they will solve our problems and what are the timelines. Abrar said that if all of us are patriots and must be part of this rally. A document on a self-reliant economy will also be presented that will inspire all leaders to provide clarity of their manifestoes that will help in solving the outstanding problems of Pakistan, he said.
