US has termed Pakistan’s decision to return Indian helicopter a positive step.
During her briefing in Washington, the US State Department spokesperson Victoria Nuland acknowledged Pakistan’s decision to return Indian helicopter that strayed into Pakistani airspace as a positive step.
It is very very important that both countries avoid conflict or blowing such incidents into another crisis, she said.
“It is a result of the increased dialogue between India and Pakistan and the fact that they have reestablished some hotlines and emergency procedures,” she said.
Nuland said that India and Pakistan were able to speak directly, thereby avoiding an incident in this case. This is a very good step and the United States hopes to see this kind of progress continue between Pakistan and India.
