UCP resounds with McBride’s voice

University of Central Punjab (UCP) organised a Mary McBride concert on Wednesday, which was held at their Johar Town campus, in collaboration with the American Consulate. The concert was held in the memory of Daniel Pearl, a journalist, who was killed in Pakistan in 2002. The performance was a part of the battle of the bands competition held at UCP. The show kicked off a tad late with Hammad Naeem’s voice. Naeem was followed by a UCP band, Zasur, which won the battle. Zasur’s performance enthraled the audience. Irfan Khan, a singer from Peshawar followed the winning band with his Pashto song. Quratulain Baloch and Amanat Ali were the much anticipated acts of the concert, which followed the participants. Mary McBride, the much anticipated final act of the concert, performed riveting melodies. Students appreciated her performance and a general wave of enthusiasm was seen reverberating through the crowd.
