Punjab Governor Latif Khosa has said the Pakistan People’s Party’s (PPP) government supports lawyers and has always been ready to go to any extent to help the legal fraternity, because it wants to establish Pakistan according to the vision of two great lawyers, Quaid-e-Azam and Allama Iqbal. He attributed this stance of the party to Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, who was also a lawyer. He was addressing the members of the Lahore Bar Association in a local hotel on the occasion of distribution of cheques worth Rs 10 million as the first installment for the construction of the Benazir Bhutto Shaheed Lawyers Hospital at 7-Dec Samaj Road Lahore, on behalf of the federal government. He also delivered a cheque of Rs 20 million to the Lahore High Court Bar Association (LHCBA) on the occasion. The LHCBA vice president received the cheque. He added that lawyers were always welcome to approach him at Governor’s House, as he was one of them and was representing the legal fraternity in the government.
