Petition filed in IHC against Establishment Division secretary

A woman candidate for the section officers’ promotional examination Thursday filed a petition in the Islamabad High Court against the Establishment Division sectary and other officials. She held the view that she had been “illegally” declared ineligible for the appointment. Saima Ambreen, who is working as the assistant accounts officer at the Pakistan Military Accounts Department, filed the petition through her counsel Abdur Rehman Siddique. She also nominated the Federal Public Service Commission and the Establishment Division as respondents.
The petitioner said the Federal Public Service Commission (FPSC) had issued a proclamation as a public notice in the national press inviting applications for the selection of 50 Section Officers in the BS-17 through Section Officers Promotional Examination 2010, scheduled to have been held on 28.12.2010. She said that under the clause-2 of the aforesaid public notice, all the civil servants who with minimum 8 years service in BS-11 to BS-16 were declared eligible for the said examination. The petitioner requested the court to get her declared eligible for the post of section officer with all possible benefits.
