Man killed over property dispute

A 28-year-old property dealer was killed and his father, a railway employee, was injured when two unidentified people fired at them at their doorstep following a property-related dispute in Atif Park New Bhohiwal on Wednesday. The Shalimar Police said that two assailants first invited victim Waqas, father of a son, outside his home and opened fire after getting into an argument. Victim’s father identified as Khalid Baig was also injured when he tried to save his son. The suspects fled while the injured were rushed to a near-by hospital where Waqas succumbed to his injuries. The family told police that two youngsters had been visiting the victims’ residence for the last three days and asking about Waqas who was not at home. Shalimar SHO Muhammad Younis said that according to family Waqas had a property dispute with his maternal uncle and others. He said that a licensed pistol of the suspects accidentally dropped, which would help trace the suspects.

Naveed holds a Masters’ degree in anti-terrorism from Kings College, London. He is also a research scholar and author of four books.
