The Kasur police on Wednesday registered a case against 10 female members of the PML-N for allegedly ransacking the office of Kasur TMO Mussarat Jabeen over the reinstatement of daily wagers.
Reportedly, scores of PML-N female workers, led by local PML-N leader Safia Saeed, entered the TMO office and asked her to reinstate a suspended daily wager. Mussarat told the PML-N workers that the employee would be reinstated when she would get the report from the officer concerned. Upon this, Safia Saeed got infuriated and smashed the window panes of the office and ransacked the furniture with her other colleagues. After the incident, the TMA employees protested against the PML-N local leadership. Later, PML-N MNA Sheikh Waseem Akhtar, Rao Mazhar Hayat, MPA Shagufta Sheikh, Mubashar Nawaz and other PML-N leaders reached the TMA office. DCO Irshad Hussain Shah tried to mediate between the two parties, but in vain. The B-Division police later registered a case against PML-N workers, including Safia, Fareeda, Mukhtaran Bibi, Zareena Bibi, Tahir, Kausar and four others. PML-N Kasur President Rana Muhammad Hayat lamented that the women had damaged the party image over a petty issue.
