Inter, matriculation students get 10 attempts

In a major development, the Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (FBISE) has decided to provide 10 consecutive chances to students to pass their matriculation and Intermediate examinations. A senior FBISE official told Pakistan Today on Wednesday that students could now sit for exams for five consecutive years to pass.
“Under the decision, which would be applicable from this year, those students who have appeared in recently-held examinations can also avail this facility,” the official said, adding that the decision was approved by the FBISE’s board of governors in a recently held meeting. He said that those students who failed in their last examinations and were asked to re-appear as fresh candidates, would now only be asked to appear in the subjects failed. When contacted, FBISE Secretary Manzoor Ahmed confirmed the decision.
