ANP holds district reorganisation election

The Awami National Party (ANP) district reorganisation election completed on Thursday with Usman Khattak was unanimously elected as district president and Zameer Bad Shah general secretary of the party. The election was held without voting in the presence of provincial general secretary Tajuddin Khan and member of provincial election commission Imran Afridi. District councilors decided to unanimously elect Usman Khattak district president and Zameer Bad Shah general secretary. Tajuddin Khan announced other office bearers including Mansoor Ahmad Khattak as senior vice president and Sajjad Ahmad, Muhammad Ismael, Imam Shah, Muhammad Nazeer, Wazeer-i-Azam and woman candidate Taj Mehal as vice president, Noor Sadiq deputy general secretary and Raham Saeed, Khalid Mehmood, Tanveer Nawaz, Rohan Gul, Akheer Zaman and Lal Sadique joint secretary, Sadqiullah secretary information, Peer Hazrat Kamal secretary finance and Gul Zeeban Khattak secretary culture.
Addressing the elected cabinet and district councilors, the provincial general secretary Tajuddin Khan and Imran Afridi congratulated the newly elected members of the cabinet and expressed optimism. They resolved the provincial government will continue to provide people services operating from within limited resources. They said the provincial government will have autonomy over resources and will incentivise labour within the province. The ANP leaders said they will follow Bacha Khan’s philosophy of non-violence. The newly elected district president Usman Khattak and general secretary Zameer Bad Shah addressed the gathering and thanked the district councilors for putting confidence in them.
