District Court lawyers on Wednesday observed a complete strike against the attack on Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) High Court Chief Justice (CJ) Ghulam Mustafa Mughal. No proceedings were carried out in the lower courts due to which litigants suffered inconvenience. “I came here from Gujjar Khan, spending a lot on the fare, but after coming I find the courts closed,” said Jamil Hussain, a litigant.
However, the lawyers were of the view that the incident was a direct attack on the judiciary which should be condemned in every manner.
Earlier on Tuesday, unidentified people fired at the AJK CJ when he was strolling at AJK University’s recreational ground near his residence. He received one bullet in his abdomen.
