A three-storey building of the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) with separate sections for men and women is being built in Surjani Town on 400 yards of land with the cost of Rs 50 million, said a NADRA official on Tuesday while speaking at the inaugural of the authority’s National Registration Centre (NRC) in Gujro union council of Gadap Town jurisdiction.
The official said the NRC has been opened in Surjani Town keeping in view the problems of the people of the town and its suburbs in obtaining Computerised National Identity Cards (CNICs).
The NRC has been inaugurated as a temporary arrangement to issue CNICs to the people of the area, the official added.
Earlier, parliamentarians Abdul Waseem and Adil Khan formally inaugurated the NRC, where New Karachi Town Administrator Afaq Saeed and other notables were also present.
