Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Fazlur Rehman (JUI-F) central leader Abdul Ghani and another person were killed in a road accident near Chaman, media reported on Wednesday.
Maulana Abdul Ghani was on way to his madrasah in a car when another fast-moving vehicle, coming from opposite side, collided with his car while overtaking, killing the JUI-F leader and another person on the spot.
Maulana’s driver and three passengers of the other car were critically injured in the mishap took place at Chaman College road.
The injured were shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital, Chaman.
Abdul Ghani, 75, was a former Member of National Assembly, elected twice from the Chaman and Pashen constituencies. He was a close aide of JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman and a founding member of the religious party.
