Opening batsman Mohammed Hafeez said on Tuesday that Pakistan’s players knew they needed to hold catches after dropping seven in Sri Lanka’s second innings in Abu Dhabi.
“We dropped some catches and we should not be doing that but this is the game of cricket and sometimes you work hard but it does not come your way. The boys will work hard and I think we will perform much better in the second Test,” Hafeez said in an interview with Dubai Sports City Audioboo channel.
“The squad was delighted with the form of the bowlers in Abu Dhabi. For me the positive was our ability to take 20 wickets in the Test,” he said.
