Punjab Chief Minister has ordered rechecking of intermediate Part-I examination results. Higher Education Department (HED) issued instructions to the chairpersons of all eight boards of education to start rechecking all papers immediately. Instructions were given to fairly recheck the papers and charge no rechecking fees. Every answer sheet will be thoroughly scrutinized to ensure no question is left unmarked while marks obtained will be compared with award lists. Checking will be undertaken by examiners, not computers.
Four different teams in each board of education will work round the clock in different shifts to check the papers. The heads of private and public sector educational institutions in will be allowed to personally observe the rechecking process after contacting the board chairperson concerned. A senior government officer has been deputed for every board to supervise the process.
