A protesting mob set a passenger bus on fire, here on Tuesday, after an elderly man, who slipped from that bus, succumbed to injuries in the Band Bosan area of Multan.
The deceased was a 70 years old man, Bashir, who lost his balance while getting off the bus, and sustained fatal injuries as a result.
Later, the relatives of Bashir took to the streets and staged a protest. They also kept a main road blocked for many hours and set the said bus on fire, eyewitnesses say.
Consequently, a police and fire fighters converged to the site and dispersed the agitators.
In the meantime, the bus driver managed to escape, taking advantage of the rush on the road, said a police official.
