The Islamabad police claimed on Monday to have arrested 23 outlaws from various areas of the city and recovered 390 bottles of liquor, 2.165 kilograms of hashish and three pistols from them A police spokesman on Monday said that on a tip off, a special team of Shehzad Town police station headed by Insepctor Younus Gujjar and comprising ASI Suleman Gujjar and others arrested a bootlegger, Adnan, and recovered 374 bottles of liquor from him. Separately, he said, ASI Azhar Mehmud of the CIA police nabbed Shakeem Masih with six bottles while Sub-Inspector Asjad Mehmud of the Sabzi Mandi police arrested a drug dealer named Arshad with 1.15 kilograms of hashish. The spokesman said Sub-Inspector Ghulam Mustafa of the Tarnol police station arrested a drug dealer named Javed Iqbal while carrying 1.150 kilograms of hashish.
Meanwhile, ASI Khuram Aslam of the Bhara Kahu police apprehended a bootlegger, Haroon Masih, with ten bottles of liquor. Separately two people named Imran and Azhar were also arrested with two pistols. Yet another raid, ASI Khalid Mehmud and Muhamamd Arif of the Ramna police station arrested nine people for their alleged involvement in “immoral activities”.
