Over 25 calligraphic paintings sold in first week

More than 25 of the 50 calligraphic paintings on display at the Revivers’ Art Gallery have been sold off during the first week of the exhibition. On display in the exhibition are calligraphic works of about seven well known artists including Amjad Butt, Bin Qulander, Chitra Pretam, Mashkoor Raza, Mussarat Arif, Riaz Rafi and Tariq Javed belonging from Lahore, Karachi and other parts of the country.
Verses of the Holy Quran have been rendered in attractive colours on canvas quite impressively by the artists in different mediums mainly oil and acrylic. Sara Anjum owner and curator, said that this sale of their paintings was encouraging for the artists and also the gallery and along with that also indicates that calligraphic paintings were still very popular among the art collectors as well as the art lovers. She said that there were more calligraphic paintings expected from other artists in the meantime, and that hopefully some more would be sold before the group exhibition concluded.
