Japan has decided to extend financial support of US$ 105,629 (approx. Rs 8.8 million) to Kohsar Welfare Society (KWS) for the construction of 7-kilometer concrete link road in the village called Lower Chalawara, Kotli Sattian in Rawalpindi District. The agreement for the project was signed on Monday at the Japanese Ambassador’s residence in Islamabad between Ambassador Hiroshi and Dr Muhammad Kabir of the President of KWS. Upon the successful completion of this project the residents will be able to commute smoothly and public transport will be able to link the villages with Rawalpindi and Islamabad cities. It will help the village people (400 households or around 4,500 individuals) with an increased access to facilities such as education, medical services, and business activities. The Japanese ambassador stressed that the improvement in infrastructural and rural development was one of the priorities in the Japanese assistance policy towards Pakistan.
